I, Karthika Menon Thomas, hold a Master of Counselling postgraduate degree from the University of Canberra, Australia. I have previously worked as a Family Counsellor (Post-Separation Family Services) and as a Student Counsellor (IMPACT services) at Marymead, Canberra, providing individual and group counselling support services under the umbrella of a child-inclusive and trauma-informed approach. I presently hold a Level 2 membership with the Australian Counselling Association. I also have a background working as a Registered Behaviour Therapist providing early intervention ABA therapy to children, clinically diagnosed with Autism, developmental delays and other neurological differences. As a Volunteer Counsellor at Parentline, Canberra, Australia, I provided telephone, online and face-to-face counselling services to children and families. I had the opportunity to be trained in the Parent Effectiveness Approach which enables me to provide training and support to parents and carers who wish to optimize their relationship with their children
