About:
Hello, I am Sneha Parkar. I am a trauma-informed therapist who uses the internal family system (IFS) model of therapy. My therapeutic approach also incorporates somatic, or body-based, work, recognising that trauma affects not just the mind but also the body. I like to use metaphors and visual imagery to deeply explore and understand the client better. At times, difficult experiences can often shatter and change our worldview and sense of self. I take an existential approach, where the client and counsellor work together to find new meaning and purpose in the client’s lived experiences and life. I believe therapy is more than just managing your symptoms - it is to help your system truly heal so that you can reconnect with yourself and live life more fully.
