Lead Psychologist and RCI-Licensed Therapist

About:

Hi! I'm Ishita, and I'm an RCI-licensed psychologist. I see therapy as a kind of mirror. A space where you get to look at yourself and your life with a little more honesty and curiosity. My hope is to make therapy feel a little safer and more comfortable than the rest of the world, so you can say what needs to be said, explore what comes up, and take what you discover back into your life.

I'm a relational, person-centred therapist, so I don't see myself as a blank slate in the room. I don't believe clinical distance or perfectly neutral expressions are always helpful. Sometimes, what we need is to feel genuinely witnessed and met in what we're experiencing. When there's an elephant in the room, I think it's better to gently acknowledge it than pretend it isn't there.
I draw from evidence-based psychological tools and stay closely connected to research, while also bringing a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens to the work. I approach other people with grace, curiosity, and compassion. I believe that there is often much more possibility within us than we can see when we are in the middle of something difficult. I see therapy as a relationship. Trust doesn't happen all at once; it grows over time. And as it does, we can go deeper, be more honest, and have the conversations that create real change.

Ultimately, therapy is about becoming friends with all the parts of ourselves, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and learning that our flaws don't make us unlovable or bad people. You don't have to perform here. You get to put down your walls, let someone take care of you for a while, and remember that you don't always have to carry everything alone.
