About:
Aparupa Dasgupta is a clinical psychologist working in the gap where mental health care meets what the world places on a person, recognising that much of what brings people to therapy stems from circumstance, not from anything inherently wrong with who they are. She holds an M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from the University of Calcutta and an M.Sc in Applied Psychology (Clinical and Forensic specialisation), and is registered with Rehabilitation Council of India .
Her training across psychiatric, medical, and shelter-home settings shaped her understanding of how discrimination, exclusion, and a lack of safe spaces become internalised as anxiety, rumination, and difficulty trusting oneself. She is queer affirmative in her practice, drawing on CBT and third-wave approaches like DBT and ACT. At the core of her work is the belief that care should not require a person to explain or justify themselves before being taken seriously.
